Eco fair: Day I

The Nepali Times eco fair kicked off on Saturday at the Academy Hall, Kamaladi, showcasing environmental friendly technologies and solutions. The exhibitors offered information on solar technologies, waste management, rain water harvesting, organic farming, electric vehicles and other eco-friendly products. The exhibition will be on until 12 February.

Damber Bahadur: Wow! It makes me cry to see the beauty and elegance of Swayambhu Nath Temple. It makes me proud to be a Nepali. Yes, our country is in a mess, but the cultural heritage and the beauty of Newari arts are something we all Nepali should be extremely proud of. Thank you all the people who contributed and participated on the restoration project of this beautiful land mark of Kathmandu.
REENA: All the peace of the country has been ruined by politics in Nepal…just get ride of the worse politics for country and please you all politicians try not to behave as animal try to be a person which really think for country and its people and not for own self..if you all did for country and its people you will definitely get whatever you want..please keep the reputation of the country ..and leave it as a peaceful country…i really beg for that and think for the development and new beginnings that really brings a best changes and happiness to the country and its people…

Sameer Yonzan: These armed police might had come for drilling morning exercise, but they look frail and tired young man, I am optimistic that their food rations are being cut off by the bribed government officials. In the realistic issue, the true peace doesn’t come from the suppression by force, if the people can cultivate inner peace by studying and analyzing Buddha’s wisdom, APF and armed forces are not needed at all, they are just waste of everything. In fact they can be miss used to protect the crooked and cunning political leaders.

Nirmal: The photo rather speaks of militarised environment than the daily physical exercise of these cops. But by allowing to use the public places for armed cops to get physical exercises in a place which is estolled for its ahimsa philosophy( it means that there is a lack of proper place for this purpose) aren’t we playing with the security of common folks and of these policemen ? Lethal arms without precise cautions between mass as If they are simple policeko danda…. When i see the physical identity of these policemen in newspapers and in other media, I wonder If it is not little bit perill for their own privacy and security. Not all nepali police personnels want to live and act as a police 24 hours, many have their own common lives as we do have in our off hours although...

nepali: I think we need a kingdom that means Monarchy in Nepal just like in Britan and Japan.Everyone knows that the Palace under Gayandra made mistake but looking at his past action makes me feel that he wanted to do something for the country but he did in a wrong way so today he is suffering.He took advice from the Old Guards of Panchayat era and he forgot that Nepal was already a democrat country and people had already tasted Democracy. Kunfan: Well they do look like they were hired and bussed into Kathmandu, just like the Maoists do for their show of strenght. But Kamal Thapa is saying publicly what we all (except the hardcore Maoists) say in private; that we need the monarchy back in some form. Gyanendra did screw us all quite badly, but that does not mean we should not give him one more chance, with a clear warning, that if he screws up again, we will personally chase him across the border..

rupa joshi: the fellow hugging prithibi narayan’s statue is our very own “nepal ko khalasi” (his own terms) laxman singh khadka… he’s the one who hangs banners commemorating all international days, has appropriate slogans painted on his kurta, and goes around unhindered painting statues around the valley.. currently he’s planting the nepali flags atop the shahid gate.. here’s a link to the face book about him! http://www.facebook.com/group. php?gid=67992248880&v=wall
Narayan prasad Bhusal MD: Yeah its been a incredible decade for Nepalese, we have change the course of the history by disposing the 240 year autocratic rule, heading forward to republic federalism, and new constitution. My greatest condolence to those known and unknown victim of this conflict. Definitely there are various incident of human right abuse, intimidation, rape and killing from both side but what is important now is to move forward to build prosperous Nepal, where we all Nepalese brother all can enjoy human right, democratic government, civil supremacy, and sens of security to us and our family. lets pray this coming decade will be decade of friendship, mutual respect and progressive.
