Well they do look like they were hired and bussed into Kathmandu, just like the Maoists do for their show of strenght. But Kamal Thapa is saying publicly what we all (except the hardcore Maoists) say in private; that we need the monarchy back in some form. Gyanendra did screw us all quite badly, but that does not mean we should not give him one more chance, with a clear warning, that if he screws up again, we will personally chase him across the border..
I think we need a kingdom that means Monarchy in Nepal just like in Britan and Japan.Everyone knows that the Palace under Gayandra made mistake but looking at his past action makes me feel that he wanted to do something for the country but he did in a wrong way so today he is suffering.He took advice from the Old Guards of Panchayat era and he forgot that Nepal was already a democrat country and people had already tasted Democracy.
Nepal needs a king to unite the country and for peace in the country.Nepal do not need a king to rule but we need a king to unite all the ra
ce,religion and people and etc.We as Nepalese want to respect the king for his work towards the nation but not be forced to respect him just because he is a blue blood.
At least when the king was still there Nepal was united in diffrent ways.Now Nepal being a Republic we are divided.Now people start talking about race,religion,region and etc.What have we gained in reality after being a Republic…the truth is nothing.
So looking at the situation of the country now I feel we need to bring the Monarchy back but just as a ceromonay head of state.At least people will look upon him to unite the country.Presently we have the President as head of state but people dont respect him and they dont look at him as a guardance so instead of him let replace it with a Monarchy.Past is past and lets give him a second chance if he can unite the country and bring peace to the Nation.
